CamSur tops 2012 Bicol Regional Skills Competition



The province of Camarines Sur won five golds out of the seven trade areas competed in the recently conducted 2012 Bicol Regional Skills Competition (BRSC) in Daet, Camarines Norte.

Cam Sur won in Cookery, Cake Icing and Decorating, Web Design, Graphics Design and Information Network Cabling. The province of Sorsogon also won 3 golds for Information Network Cabling, Software Applications and Web Design while the province of Albay garnered the gold for Restaurant Services.

The TESDA Regional Office spearheaded the 2012 BRSC in partnership with Daet Municipal Mayor Tito S. Sarion and Gov. Edgar Tallado. The event aims to promote TVET programs in the region specifically focusing on ICT and tourism related qualifications which are the major key employment generators in the region.

Mayor Sarion during the opening ceremonies emphasized that TVET programs are relevant to his administration’s thrust for employment generation. RD Bares likewise announced that the skills competition will be conducted annually as a venue for showcasing the various skills of TVET trainees.
